Dear PPO Network members,

We look forward to welcoming you to Ottawa, Canada for the SIOP 2023 Congress!

The PPO Steering Committee has worked closely with our local host, Dr Héloise Sirois-Leclerc (Clinical and Health Psychologist, Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario), to put together an exciting and stimulating program for our Education Day and PPO sessions on the main program.

Notable highlights include the PPO Educational Day on Wednesday 11th October which includes several symposia addressing the following topics: interventions for steroid-related mood and behaviour change, cultural adaptations of the Voicing My Choices advance care planning guide, caring for children across diverse populations, and provision of psychosocial support to families during a humanitarian crisis.

The main program will feature a ‘Meet the Expert’ session, discussing psychopharmacology in paediatric oncology as well as a symposium examining cultural impacts on discussions of fertility and sexuality, and two free paper sessions.

We are also delighted to announce an inaugural PPO social networking event which will be held on Wednesday 11th October at 17:00-18:30, immediately following the conclusion of the PPO Education Day. We warmly invite all PPO Network members to join us for food, beverages, and conversation together with PPO colleagues from around the world. The event will be held in the foyer area of the conference venue – further details will be available at the Congress. All PPO Network members should have received an email invitation and link to register attendance for the event (please check your inboxes!).

We very much look forward to meeting with you all in Ottawa!

With best wishes,

Maria McCarthy and Christopher Recklitis, SIOP PPO Chairs
